This notice explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it and what we do with it.

It covers the Garden To Do website at gardentodo.app and the waitlist. Garden To Do isn’t yet available as an app. Before it launches, we’ll update this notice to cover the information the app collects, including the plants and garden details you add to it.

Who we are

Garden To Do is operated by Thomas Hiskey, trading as Garden To Do, in the United Kingdom.

For data protection purposes, we are the controller of the personal information described in this notice. You can contact us about privacy at hello@gardentodo.app.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist

We collect your email address and the location you select. These are the only things the form asks for.

The form is provided by Framer, which passes your details to us by email. Your details are held in Framer’s form submissions and in our email account.

When you visit the website

The website is built and hosted using Framer.

Framer’s built-in analytics tell us things like which pages people visit, how they arrive at the site, which countries they’re in and what devices and browsers they use. These statistics don’t use cookies or persistent identifiers, and they’re anonymised at the point of collection, so they can’t be traced back to you.

Framer, and the infrastructure it runs on, also processes the technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as your IP address, browser type and security-related data.

When you contact us

If you email us, we’ll have your email address and whatever you wrote.

What we don’t collect

There are no accounts, no payments and no tracking or advertising cookies on this website. We don’t collect information about your garden here; that comes later, in the app, under its own notice. We don’t buy information about you from anyone else, and we don’t sell your personal information.

How we use it, and the legal basis

Waitlist. We use your email address to let you know when Garden To Do is ready and to send occasional updates about the product on the way to launch. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by joining the waitlist. You can withdraw it at any time, as described below.

Website operation and statistics. We use technical information and visitor statistics to keep the website working and secure, and to understand which pages are useful. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running and improving the website.

Correspondence. We use what you send us to reply to you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch.

Emails from Garden To Do

Joining the waitlist doesn’t sign you up for unrelated marketing. We’ll only use your address for the purpose described when you joined.

When Garden To Do launches, we’ll send you the launch information you asked for. We won’t turn the waitlist into an ongoing mailing list without giving you a clear choice first.

You can ask us to stop at any time, using the unsubscribe option in any email or by writing to hello@gardentodo.app.

Who else handles it

A small number of service providers process personal information on our behalf so that the website and waitlist work:

• Framer provides the website platform, hosting, forms and analytics. Framer is based in the Netherlands.

• Google provides our email, where waitlist submissions and correspondence are received.

These providers only process your information to provide their services to us, under their own data processing terms.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

International transfers

Garden To Do is operated from the United Kingdom, and the website is intended for gardeners in several countries.

Some of our service providers process information outside the UK. Transfers to the European Economic Area are covered by the UK’s adequacy regulations. Where a provider is based elsewhere, such as the United States, the transfer is covered by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

Waitlist. We keep your email address until:

• you withdraw consent or ask us to delete it;

• we’ve sent you the launch information you asked for and you’ve had the chance to decide whether to hear from us again; or

• we decide that Garden To Do won’t launch, in which case we’ll delete the waitlist.

Technical information. Framer keeps the technical logs needed to run and protect the website for as long as its services require. Visitor statistics are anonymised when they’re collected, so no personal information is retained from them.

Correspondence. For as long as we need it to deal with what you wrote, then deleted in the ordinary course of things.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• ask what personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy;

• ask us to correct it;

• ask us to delete it;

• ask us to restrict how we use it;

• object to certain uses of it;

• receive it in a portable format; and

• withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

Not every right applies in every circumstance or jurisdiction.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right.

If you’re in the United Kingdom, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

If you’re in the European Economic Area, you can complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work. If you live elsewhere, you may have similar rights with your local privacy regulator.

Changes to this notice

We’ll update this notice as Garden To Do develops, particularly when the app becomes available or if the way we collect and use information changes. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date at the top.

If a change is significant and you’re on the waitlist, we’ll email you about it.
